So as you can see, in the past we’ve neglected our little blog. However right now we make an oath to you to post often about our new life together from our new home in the big sunny city of Los Angeles. I am positive we will be having some exciting adventures together that we can share with you.
I think it would be most appropriate to start off with an update about our wedding. Sadly though we don’t have our photos back yet from our lovely photographer. She did however hint that they turned out really well. So be looking for those soon. Other than that, our wedding was everything we dreamed. It was beautiful, creative, fun, romantic and screamed US! Thank you to everyone who made it happened. It was a lot of work but worth it all. We will go into more detail when we post pictures.
Now as for our honeymoon, we can say the same. As most of you know Jake planed everything and it was a surprise to me. I didn’t know where or what we were doing until we pulled in. Our first night we stayed in Traverse City at a beautiful lodge right on Grand Traverse Bay.
The view from our room was amazing and the room itself had everything you could imagine. It was beautiful. The next day we went about an hour up the bay to Charlevoix. It was a cute little town right on the water. We spent the day relaxing and exploring the town.
One of the days, Jake took me on a tour of the most fantastic places in Northern Michigan. We climbed the Sleepy Bear Dunes,
hiked up to Pyramid point for a view of the water,
had lunch at a local cafe in Glen Arbor, which gave us free cupcakes because they noticed our decorated car advertising we were just married,
Drove out to the end of the peninsula,
and finished the day with a delicious dinner at Red Lobster. Another day was spent up on Mackinac Island. Most of the afternoon we rode a tandem bike around the island
and then ate giant hot dogs for lunch.
We treated ourselves to ice cream and of course the famous Mackinac fudge and lastly, we made sure to buy some souvenirs to remember our time there. On our last night, Jake took me to this expensive restaurant for dinner and we sat on the deck and ate amazing food and watched the sun set.
The whole trip was wonderful. We had the time of our lives together and the weather was just perfect. I completely fell in love with Northern Michigan. Jake did the most perfect job planing our honeymoon. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
Now we are living in the heart of Los Angeles. We have a cute little one bedroom apartment that we are making into our home (we will post pictures soon). So far we love it here. Mostly though we love each other.
