Making History

Photography is quickly becoming more and more of a passion of ours. We’ve never had advanced photography instruction, but we love to shoot pictures none the less. Recently, I inherited some cameras from my Grandpa. We are really honored that he wanted us to have them.

The first camera was my Grandpa’s Leica IIIc that he bought when he was over in Germany near the end of WWII. It is in perfect condition and we will definitely be taking some pictures with it.
The second one is a Kodak Brownie 8mm Movie Camera. We’ve never shot film movies before, but we think it would be really fun to attempt it.

There is so much history behind these cameras and we are extremely excited to become a part of it. Along with the cameras came two shoe boxes. One is filled with old slides and negatives and the other has reels and reels of 8mm film. Together they document my Grandparents, Uncle and Mother’s life. Jake already ordered an 8mm film projector and we are looking into slide and negative scanners. Once we have the right equipment we’ll be able to journey through their past and make exciting discoveries. Along the way we will be sharing highlights of our findings.
