Last weekend I fulfilled one of my lifetime goals: seeing “Weird Al” Yankovic in concert. I know that sounds really strange and hard for most people to relate to, but his music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember listening to music. My oldest brother, who introduced Weird Al to me when we were kids, also came with us. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. And even though Jamie didn’t grow up listening to him, she had a blast too.
The Fox Performing Arts Center is about an hour away from LA in Riverside, California. It was an extremely intimate setting and we were only six row back, right in the middle of the row. At one point they shot off confetti and we stuffed a bunch of it into Jamie’s purse to keep as souvenirs. Afterwards my brother and I both bought t-shirts. It was an experience I’ll never forget. I’m so blessed to have a wife who enjoys going to a Weird Al concert with me.
