This morning I came across a new artist that I am completely smitten with. Becca Stadtlander‘s work is so fun and beautiful. She has a very charming historic style and I would happily hang any of her pieces on my walls. Here are a few of my favorites. Be sure to check out her website and shop to see more of her work. And if you love reading artist interviews as much as I do check out the interview with her on Etsy.

Jon & Nina’s Sunrise Wedding Suite

About a week or so ago Nina Hans contacted me just to say hello and I’m so glad she did. We are both happily married graphic designers living in Los Angeles. We haven’t actually met in person, but what more do you need to have in common to be friends? We chatted back and forth for a little while and she ended up showing me her beautiful sunrise wedding video. Yes I did say SUNRISE! That is one brave bride. It turned out so lovely. They served their favorite coffee to keep guests warm and even sent them home with a fresh roasted bag of beans. Thanks to my parents, I’m a sucker for good coffee too. At my wedding my dad let the caterers take care of everything except for the coffee. He brought his own beans and made sure it was brewed just right. Gotta love good coffee.

In the video I noticed bits of stuff Nina designed for their wedding like the coffee bag favors, napkins and even a piñata. I got really excited and asked Nina if I could share it with you here on our blog. She sent me photos of all the other stuff she did for her special day. I love it when graphic designers get married. It’s their chance to produce beautiful work representing themselves to share with the people they love. This is so good.

Watch Me Grow: 18 Weeks

Yesterday Pixel started puppy class. I don’t mean to be bias, but he was the cutest one there. He even volunteered a couple times (no joke). The class was really good so far. We even have homework to do before next week.
Our little Pix still has a lot to learn. You know that yellow chair we reupholstered a few weeks ago (the one he is sitting on)? Well I left the little guy alone for literally one minute and I come back and he not only left chew marks on one of the arms, but complete bit off the corner. I guess the project isn’t done yet. I can’t stay mad at him for long though. Right now he is sleeping like a little babe on his bed and I just want to go kiss him on his face.

Stay Creative

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post Design, Inspiration, Motion Graphics, Video 1288 Views

I’ve been MIA for the past few days because my roommate from college came out to visit. I haven’t seen her since Jake and I got married (over 2 years ago). Seeing her was long overdue. We managed to squeeze a lot of stuff into a short amount of time. Now back to work, but I think my long to-do list has just left me feeling lazy. You know when you have so much to do you don’t know where to start so you just don’t do anything? That’s how I’m feeling today. Really it’s just a bunch of little things so I should just suck it up and do it; or maybe I’ll put it off a little longer and watch some HGTV first.

I saw this video today and since I’m not really feeling all that creative, I thought it was a good reminder on how to avoid getting burned out.
