Janet Hill Paintings

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post Animals, Art, Artist, Decor, painting 2588 Views

I’m quickly discovering there are not enough walls in our apartment for all the art I want to hang on them. I’m hoping I can squeeze in one more of these paintings by Janet Hill. I just recently came across her work and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite painters. I love the dramatic colors and quirky subject matter in each piece.

I also read a really great interview with her in Matchbook Magazine. I’m kind of a sucker for artist interviews. Its like a little peek into their lives. You get to see how and where they work. It’s so inspiring to me. The pictures of her working in her studio with globs of paint on her easel make we want to grab a brush and try my hand at oil painting.

I had a really hard time picking only a handfull of paintings to post. They are all so lovely. So be sure to check out all her other paintings on her website and in her shop. Don’t you think a Dalmatian would be perfect for her next subject? I would even let Pixel model for her if she wanted.

A Pair of Pears Branding

I’ve been wanting to tidy up our branding for a while now. I finally had the time to sit down and get it done. I organized everything that makes up our brand so when I’m ready to use it–it’s all right there. I also went ahead and designed our letterhead and ordered a few stamps for packaging. The stamps came in the mail yesterday. They turned out just how I wanted; I can’t wait to stamp everything!

Christmas Card Inspiration

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post Christmas, Inspiration, Paper Goods 1343 Views

Today I thought I would get a head start on our Christmas card. I started looking around for some inspiration. I’m not really sure which direction I want to go this year. I know I would like to include a picture but that’s about it. I really love the custom illustrations, but then again I’m also drawn to something super simple. See what I mean? I’m just not sure. Here is what I have gathered for inspiration so far. You can check out our Christmas cards from years past here and here.

Happy Friday everyone! I thought I would end this week with a little something for you. Here are some free Halloween treat bag toppers. Watch Me Grow: 19 Weeks

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post Pixel, Watch Me Grow 1017 Views

Poor little Pixel. He looks a little sad in this one. I don’t blame him though. He had just gotten fixed so the vet made him wear the cone of shame for a full week. Thankfully he made it through and at least we all got a few good laughs from it.

I love a good map. I especially love these screen printed ones from The Harbinger Co. They make me want to do some sort of map series for our shop. Maybe some day. For now I’ll just admire these and work on the hundreds of other ideas I have first.

Handsome Coffee

Here at the Bartlett house we love a good cup of coffee; but something we love even more is a well designed coffee brand to go along with it. Handsome Coffee Roasters is one of the best I’ve seen yet. It’s rustic, handmade and definitely handsome. That’s about everything I need to enjoy a good brew.

Great work ptarmak. Now we just need to go taste it. I’m thinking this Saturday morning would be nice.

Fall Food

Fall has finally come around to our neck of the woods and I couldn’t be more excited. We had such a fun and relaxing weekend enjoying it! We went on walks, visited the park, headed to our little downtown for a festival and even went and saw Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie. It was fabulous.

I successfully avoided going grocery shopping all weekend. I’m not the biggest fan of this chore. However, since this week calls for cooler weather, I’m going to go fall food crazy. Here are a few items on my list. Do you have a fall favorite food?

Taste of Fall

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post Fall, Family 850 Views

I’ve been gone the last couple days visiting family. It’s been a year and a half since I’ve seen most of them. My little niece and nephew are getting so big. I had so much fun with them. My nephew has the cutest smile that melts me every time and my niece says the silliest and sweetest things.

While visiting, the weather in Colorado was beautiful and perfect. The air was cool and the sun was warm. It was a nice taste of fall. I am really looking forward to going back for Christmas this year.
