You probably already figured, but I watch a lot of HGTV. My favorite show is Property Brothers. Over the weekend I saw an episode where the living room wall was decorated with mint accents. It looked so perfect. I am now completely in love with mint. My favorite ice cream is cookies and cream mint so let’s face it, it was only a matter of time.
I am now determined to add some mint accents into my home decor. I’m thinking some throw pillows would be a good way to start. I haven’t really found any I like online so I might just make some. Does anyone know where to buy good, unique fabric?

Decorate Your Desktop

The desktop wallpaper on our computer usually features a favorite picture one of us has taken, a photo from our wedding, or most recently our puppy Pixel.

Recently I have seen a lot of fun backgrounds available as free downloads that have some pretty great designs; so I thought I would share a few of my favorites.

Wise Words of Vincent Van Gogh

Van Gogh Quote from Oh My Dear
Vincent Van Gogh has gotten a reputation of being one of those crazy and strange sorts of artists. That probably has something to do with the fact that he cut off his own ear. Yeah, that’s pretty strange. I do however think this quote from him is quite wise.

Real Simple Paintings

Aren’t these paintings so fun? Katie from Paperfashion had the idea to take everyday food items and simplify them as much as possible. It’s not as simple as you may think. This would be a perfect afternoon exercise to refresh your creative juices.

We got our Dalmatian puppy on Saturday! We didn’t sleep at all on Friday night because we were way too excited to bring him home. He is even more cute and than I could ever have imagined. It feels like we’re proud parents. Pixel has been doing so well too; he is learning how to walk on his leash, go potty outside and sleeping through most of the night. As I write this he is taking another one of his naps cuddled up next to me. We are completely in love with this little guy. I mean can you blame us? Just look at that cute face.

It’s official: we get to bring our new puppy home on Saturday! We can’t wait to add the little guy to our family. Friday night is going to feel like Christmas Eve. I’m sure we won’t sleep a wink that night.
We had so much fun shopping for Pixel. We bought him some cute stuff I think he’ll like. Who wouldn’t like a little lamb chop stuffed animal? It’s so soft I was tempted to keep it for myself. Also I highly recommend Cesar Millan’s book. “How To Raise the Perfect Dog”. We’ve really enjoyed it and it’s very insightful.

I’m sure I’ll be taking lots of pictures on instagram when we get Pixel this weekend so be sure to check them out (username: apairofpears). Otherwise I’ll post lots of pictures here on Monday.

New Camera Lens

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post Cameras, Photography 1287 Views

Jake and I ordered a new lens for our camera online and we finally got it yesterday! It’s a 25mm f/2.8 Olympus pancake lens. Most of our other lenses are from old film cameras; so they are completely manual. We thought it was about time we invested in a much needed automatic lens that could communicate with our camera. Jake and I were playing around with it last night taking pictures around the house. We love it! Plus the auto focus will come in handy when taking pictures of our active new pup. Only a few more days and we can bring him home!
