Pixel is growing up to be quite a handsome pup. He started his intermediate training class two weeks ago and is quickly learning to heel when we go on walks. Sorry squirrels, you’ll have to play with the next pup that comes by.
Today We’re on The Etsy Blog
We sure do love Etsy around here and today we so excited to say we are on their blog as a guest curator! We had so much fun scouring through the art on Etsy to find some of our favorite pieces for this post. Colorful, custom, typographic, it’s all there! Go to Etsy to see our post.
Moodboard: Pixel’s First Birthday
Yep you read right. We are throwing Pixel a party for his first birthday! His birthday isn’t for another two months but it’s time to start planning. 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 (photo by A Pair of Pears) I’ve been looking for an excuse to put together another moodboard since I had so much …
Weekend Review: Puppy Birthday Party
This weekend Jamie and I had two birthday parties to attend. The first party was for our friend Holly. We spent the afternoon in the park playing frisbee, a great game of kickball, and having lunch and birthday cake. Unfortunately I was having so much fun I forgot to snap any photos. On Sunday we had another birthday party, this time for …
Finders Keepers: California Flag
Hand made from St8 of Design I think a California flag would make a nice addition to our home decor. In our office maybe? That is if we ever get that place organized. Do you ever have those projects that just never seem to end? I’m quickly realizing that that is how our home office is – never ending. Here …
In Motion: Husbands “Dream” Music Video
I’ve really been enjoying posting videos lately, so Jamie and I have decided that I’ll be doing it on a weekly basis now. We’ll be calling my column “In Motion”, and each week I’ll have a new video for your viewing pleasure. This week I’ve got another amazing work of typography; graphic designer and photographer duo Cauboyz have created an amazing music …
The Slow Down Project
Last week we challenged you to take a little time and slow down. We called it The Slow Down Project. This is something Jake and I really value and have been trying to become more intentional about in our own lives. To help us stay accountable (because let’s face it remembering to take a break every so often can be challenging) we asked …
Finders Keepers: Be Free, Lance
This week’s Finders Keepers is more like a gold mine then just a find. Breanna Rose has a column on her blog called Be Free, Lance. It is full of helpful information for freelance designers. She has just about covered all the questions I could ever ask. Anything from contracts and project management, to packaging files for development. I’ve just about …
Moodboard: Simple & Sophisticated
I decided to start incorporating moodboards into my design process. This is my first one and it has been so helpful and really fun to work with my clients to put together. Who wouldn’t love an excuse to scour Pinterest for work? This moodboard is for a branding project I’m working on. The final identity will be mostly neutral colors with a few bolder accent colors. Alright got …
Pantone Pairings
Have you seen these Pantone Pairings by David Schwen? They are so clever. I love it when designers step away from the computer and play with tangible things. I really should challenge myself to do that more often. I’m not sure I could come up with something this good though. I guess I won’t know until I try. As Barney …
