Labor Day Weekend
Besides starting our new collaborative project over the weekend, we spent a good amount of time at the dog park snapping photos with our new camera. We had a few people ask us to do a review on our camera so we plan to do that soon once we have a little more time to play with it. So far the Canon 70D works like a gem but we’ll talk more on that later.
His & Her Project
I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend — I know we sure did. It left us refreshed and got our creative juices flowing. It made me really want to start creating something regularly that used skillsets from both Jamie and I. So over the weekend we came up with an idea to collaborate on every week. We’re calling it “His and Her Project”. Makes sense right? You’ve seen our His and Hers posts that we’ve been doing over that past few months. Don’t worry — we’ll still be doing those. But this new project will be a series of hand lettering animations. The whole purpose of it is to exercise and improve our skills; but most of all just to have fun. Jamie will be doing the hand lettering part and then I will animate it. Then we’ll both do the sound design. It’ll be a little while before we show the first video (mostly because we haven’t started it yet) but we we’re so excited with what we did over the weekend that we couldn’t wait to share it with you. Get excited! It’s going to be awesome!
So Long Sweet Summer
S’mores Mug Cake | S’mores Pancakes | S’mores Pie |
Nothing says summer better than a s’more. I love these things. I love sitting around a campfire with friends, I love the smell of smoke and I love trying to toast the mallow just right (in my case a nice golden brown and a tad burnt). So now that summer is coming to a close, even if the weather still says otherwise, I think a few s’mores this weekend would be the perfect way to wish summer a goodbye and welcome in Autumn. Don’t you?
You better believe I’m making that s’more pie this weekend!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Jake and I really aren’t that into sports. We don’t make our schedules around when the games are on and we don’t have a lot of team paraphernalia decorating our home. But we do like to occasionally watch a few games here and there and when we do we really enjoy it.
We sat in the blazing sun, cheered on our team, and sang Take Me Out to the Ball Game at the top of our lungs all alongside our friends. It was a good fun day.

Today is one of those days where I don’t want to be sitting at my desk staring at the computer screen. I get like that on Fridays. I want to make things with my hands and maybe get a little dirty in the process.

We celebrated my birthday at the beginning of August. Once that has passed I don’t consider summer having much more to offer. At that point I’m ready to say goodbye until next year. Don’t get me wrong, I like summer! But I also like the changing of seasons.
