New in the Shop: Art Prints

I’ve shown a few sneak peeks of these prints on my Instagram and here on the blog. Now they are done, printed, and in the shop ready to fill up some empty walls and make them pretty!

I feel weird saying this since I designed them, but I love these pieces. The William Morris quote is one of my favorites. It’s a good reminder to keep things simple and not go crazy buying stuff you don’t need. And of course Jake and I LOVE tandem bikes. It’s been a little tradition of our’s to ride a tandem on our anniversary and peddle around to see the sites wherever we are vacationing at. Jake came up with the pun. I think it’s so quirky and fun. I hope you love them too!

Haley Sheffield is coming to town

I know I already wished you all a happy friday, but I found out some pretty exciting news that I wanted to share. Haley Sheffield is one of my favorite photographers and she just announced she is coming to Cali in September! Her work is so beautiful and fun. Chances are you’ve seen some of her shots getting pinned around. If you live in California I would start thinking of an excuse to get your photo snapped by this girl. And if you don’t you should pass the rest of your work day looking through her pictures over on her blog. Either way you won’t be sorry.

I like today

I like today. For a few reasons. When I woke up this morning I wasn’t tired. That rarely happens for me. Usually I roll out of bed when I hear Jake making coffee and even then I plop right down on the couch for a few more seconds of shut eye. Not today though. I felt refreshed. I like it when that happens.

I also got a little more time with Jake this morning. We had to take Pixel to the vet to get a shot (he didn’t mind, everyone loves him there). So afterwards we decided to go grab some breakfast at the coffee shop and soak up a little sun before he went off to work.

And of course I like today because it is Friday!

WIP: New Art Prints

Lately I’ve been working on some new art prints for our shop. I love designing new products. Most of the time when I decide to do a particular design it’s because it’s something I would love to have for myself. I’m so excited about these two new prints. We have a busy weekend ahead of us but I hope we can squeeze in some time to run these over to our printer. Fingers crossed. 

Forgotten Leica Photos

For some reason when I take pictures with a film camera I treat each shot like gold. So much so that it took us almost a year to take a full roll with my grandpa’s old Leica he gave to us. I actually completely forgot about the roll until last weekend when we were going through our office to organize it and Jake found the film. I couldn’t even remember what was on it.

We got the film back yesterday and after seeing the AMAZING photos it took I think we’re going to be taking a lot more pictures with this camera. I love this camera and I love that it was my grandpa’s. It makes it all the more special to me.

The photos in Palm Springs are from our one year anniversary. The other pictures are from my birthday party two years ago and Christmas time back home in Traverse City. 

His & Hers: Frozen Yogurt

Jake and I have very different approaches when it comes to frozen yogurt. I’m all about mixing things. The more toppings the better. I kind of treat my cup like one of those sampler platters you can get at restaurants. I’ll take a little of this and a little of that. Jake on the other hand is all about simplicity. Nothing too fancy here. Just simple flavors like peanut butter and chocolate and then one topping to go with it. I can’t blame him though. Peanut butter and chocolate are a match made in heaven. 
Most days I would pick frozen yogurt over ice cream. Jake however prefers ice cream but thankfully supports my froyo cravings. How about you? Frozen Yogurt or Ice cream? Team Jake or team Jamie?
