It looks like pineapple wins trendiest fruit this season. Fine by me! I say you can never have too much pineapple.

Cold Brew Coffee Float

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post Food, Recipe, summer 2821 Views

I checked the weather yesterday for the upcoming week and it’s saying it’s going to be in the 90s! We will be in desperate need of some ways to cool down so I came up with what I’m calling a Cold Brew Coffee Float. They are our new favorite treat! I can guarantee we will be scooping up a few of these this week.

Ingredients
Cold Brew Coffee (we got ours at Trader Joe’s)
Vanilla Ice Cream

Directions
Dish up a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, then pour about 1-2 ounces of cold brew coffee over the ice cream. Grab a spoon and enjoy!

I’d Make That

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post Food, Recipe, summer 1291 Views

All this warm weather has put me in the mood to try more Summer friendly foods. I’ll be putting the soup on the back burner until Fall or at least until one of those rare rainy days comes along. Instead I’ll be making:
Peanut Pops for those sunny afternoons
Hawaiian Hula Pork Fajitas. It’s what’s for dinner tonight
and Clementine Cake (inspired by my current favorite movie, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty)
Have any favorites you like to make when the weather turns warmer?

Avocado Toast That Kicks

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post California, Food, Recipe 2957 Views

I’m a little late to both the avocado toast and sriracha bandwagon. Don’t get me wrong, I love avocado. In fact I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of rule that if you live in California you have to put avocado on everything (which I do). But avocado smeared on bread didn’t seem all that exciting to me and I’m really not all that into super spicy foods. Then one day I decided I would give it a try and see what the hype was all about. First I tried just plain avocado on toast and it was better than I could have ever imagined. The creamy avocado on a slice warm crunchy bread sounds so simple but I’m telling you, it’s amazing! From there I went crazy and decided to add a few more ingredients to really make it kick: a little bit of lime, salt, and sriracha. And voilà we have a masterpiece! I eat this baby morning, noon, and night. You really need to give it a try. You won’t be sorry.
Ingredients
1 slice of bread
1/2 of an avocado
1/2 of a lime
salt
sriracha
Directions
Toast your bread of choice. I really like Trader Joe’s gluten free bread. It makes super great toast and adds great flavor to this recipe, but feel free to use whatever you have on hand. Next, score your avocado and scoop it out onto your toast. With a fork gently mash it up. Squeeze the lime juice out over the avocado, sprinkle with salt and squirt on some sriracha. Repeat every day!

Yep you heard right! 9 new cards are coming to our print shop soon. I spent yesterday prepping files for print and everything is ready to go. This is Ground

Jamie Bartlett Blog Post Etsy, LA, Organization, Technology, This is Ground 2088 Views

Between the two of us Jake and I have a decent amount of tech. And with tech comes cords, lots of cords. Most of the time our earphones get “neatly”stuffed in our bag along with chargers and any other things we need. I don’t know how it happens, but I’m pretty sure tiny little creatures find their way into our bags and tie knots in our earphones. I’m telling you, every time they get me. So when This is Ground emailed us asking if we would like to try out some of their products we jumped at the opportunity. They hand make the most perfect leather goods to keep all your stuff neat and tidy.
I just can’t get over the cuteness of the cord tacos! Isn’t that the most perfect name for these little guys? Especially for a company based in a city that has a taco truck on every corner. #soLA
I particularly love their pencil roll. Literally right before they emailed us I was trying to find something that could easily hold all my pencils when I’m on the go. This is so perfect. I can just roll it up and toss it in my bag.
Jake’s a fan of the Cordita. It’s great for keeping all his cords in one place and easy to take with him back and forth to work everyday.

These couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. We will be putting them to good use this year with all of our upcoming trips. Thanks This is Ground! We love everything!

Be sure to check out their site. They have so many good things. Not to mention Knick Knack Nachos! Can I have a side of guac with that?
